The Effect of an N-methylcarbamate on Esterases in Tissues of Frog by Agar gel Electrophoresis

Abstract
|
|
|
Esterase isozymes were separated from kidney and liver of an adult frog by agar-gel electrophoresis and inhibitor diluted with distilled water to 10-`, 5X10-5 10-5, 5X10-` and 10-6 M was used as a reference.
The results were as follow:
1. The inhibitory effects of sevin and parathion on esterase isozymes were found to be different.
2. Zymogram of kidney and liver in animal of the same kind seemed to be of the same pattern.
3. Parathion inhibited most of bands of esterase zymogram, while sevin had selective function on
esterase isozymes.
4. The inhibition of esterase isozymes were varied in proportion to be concentration of inhibitor. For further characterization, substrate-specificity and inhibition-activition tests must be applied.
